The 5000 Sft house in Anna Nagar East in Chennai is coming slowly to the end of the civil part of the works. Structure is complete, the plaster work and PoP is almost done, granite jambs around the openings have been installed, the windows will be installed shortly, flooring is in progress, electrical work well under way and the support for the false ceilings has been installed as well.
This posts shows the rendered floor plans, the elevations and some small sketches to show how one communicates in quick sketches on the site.
An “artist’s impression of the house viewed from the street. There is a huge Peltophorum Pterocarpum tree right in front of the building which brought us to the decision to keep the facade as simple as possible…
The Ground Floor plan: The plot of 45×80′ gives space for three cars to be parked at the entrance. A foyer opens into the house and leads to living and dining areas. Dry and wet kitchen plus service areas are placed in the back.
Level 01 houses the bedroom for the parents and their two kids.
Level 02 allows for a large entertainment space and a quiet yoga room.
As the balcony in front was a design addition after the structural work had been done we needed to be creative on how to support the 6′ long extension … Suspenders from the roof beam take the load.
The railing design: Each design topic is explored in depth; here the decision for or against horizontal or vertical patterns for the railing.
Some hand sketches to show how we communicate between different media: spoken communication on site and on phone (probably the most important means of coming to decisions), detailed computer drawings, 3d images and more and more hand sketches …
More site photos will follow very soon 🙂
