Current Project – City House (Site progress – January 2015)

Photos from various site visits throughout January. The images in this post show the various stages of the work nearing completion.

Mayor parts of the work in this hectic month: The facade work got completed with the installation of the stainless steel railings, plaster works are over, painting is on the way. Clearing of the mess on the ground floor is going on to enable the paving and cladding of the compound walls …

In the interior: Bathrooms are getting ready, wardrobes soon will be installed, wood work (staircase and doors) almost done, the marble floor is getting polished …

The building is still hidden behind a visual screen and the large tree and we can’t wait until the house is fully visible (and the mess cleared).

The rather functional entrance space in the front of the building … Three cars, setbacks, electrical panels and entrance path in 45′ width … Yet, once everything is cleared it will be a decent entrance into a modern city home.

The Northern setback space … compound to be painted white and partially clad in natural stone, flooring will be decent functional floor tiles … easy to use, easy to maintain … clear …

The triple height inner courtyard which brings light deep into the building and which together with the staircase well tie all floors together.

Looking from the entertainment level (Ground plus 2) down the stairwell … Here again a large skylight allows natural light to deeply fall into the building and to fill the space with the changing moods of the tropical sky …

We initially opted for a steel staircase (see initial render here) but then went for a more conventional wooden staircase on concrete way slabs … Solid teak planks on 12mm plywood, nicely finished on site …
